Summer touring and festivals, is there anything better? In the last few days, we have caught some talented artists weaving some creative webs for the audiences to enjoy…check out our gig review below!
Kiefer Sutherland
On his tour spanning several countries over a few months, actor-turned-singer/songwriter, Kiefer Sutherland landed in Bury St Edmunds on the hottest day of the year so far. All were set for a for a sultry night and it seemed fitting for the music and the mood of his performance; you could practically see the tumbleweed rolling and the dry dust floating about in the background. Looking a bit like a 50’s cowboy in a white hat, white jacket over black jeans, Kiefer certainly nails the part of a country singer.
With a four piece backing him while he aces the guitar as well, he rolled through the first few songs seamlessly without pause. The audience was singing along liberally as his album gains pace here in the UK. My personal fave of his tracks off the album, Reckess & Me is ‘Faded Blue Jeans’; a love letter of sorts and it demonstrates his ability as a songwriter. Overall, there is plenty of drama, grit and gravel to get your hooks into with each of the songs. Additionally, there is also plenty in the bank for stage presence and he delivers with ease as you would expect. He took time after the show to sign things and meet and greet which was a thrill for so many; a rarity with artists sometimes these days and was a fitting way to wrap up the evening.
Cats In Space Gig Review
At the Cambridge Rock Festival this weekend, we had the chance to catch the band, Cats In Space. With plenty of effective, atmospheric rock that packed the audience in, this band has the musical chops to go the distance. With some members from previous rock groups making up the core, and the frontman with all the swagger and longing you look for in one, this was a weekend favourite!
Franck Carducci Gig Review
This band proves that Prog Rock is not yet dead! They soaked the stage in thematic, boundless effects and showmanship that the audience reeled over. They are touring across the summer months, mostly in Europe, but if you get the chance, they are ones not to miss!
