Content Guide
Rapper, Tyler, The Creator is back and with an almighty bang he drops his eighth studio album, “Chromakopia”. Featuring 14 tracks, this album which was released on October, 28th 2024 is hip-hop medicine which proves why he is regarded as one of the most influential rappers of our generation.
Strong Delivery
The album was written, produced and arranged by himself and it kicks off with “St. Chroma”. The opening track features Daniel Caesar and it is the perfect opener with an instrumental-driven sound with Tyler, The Creator emerging later in the track ready to take us to “Rah Tah Tah”. Once we are into the second track, it feels as though Tyler is in full swing with his trademark style bouncing out of the speakers.
Stand Out
One particular stand out is “Darling, I” which features Teezo Touchdown. It is here where Tyler speaks about commitment and self-awareness. He holds nothing back talking about experiencing fear of being tied down and he accepts imperfection. “Judge Judy” which sits track 7 on the album slows down the journey. Tyler steps into a new vibe here and he proves his versatility as an artist while still standing out with his distinct unique style.
Future Dreams
“Tomorrow” at the 10th position speaks about getting old, mostly from the perspective of an older individual particularly Tyler’s mother who dreams of having a grandchild. It feels as though there is pressure to settle down from senior members of the family. The album wraps up with “I Hope You Find Your Way Home”. It is a somewhat slow way to end the album but it does end the album on a high note with an unusual yet memorable musical undercurrent emerging.
