Delay
Pop singer, The Weeknd has decided to delay the release of his new album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow” as well as canceling his upcoming show in Pasadena, California due to the ongoing LA wildfires. Moreover, the “Blinding Lights” star was set to release his new album on January 24th but he will now release it a week later on the 31st of January.
Venue
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye was to perform at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on the 25th of January but he called this show off to show his support to those effected by the fires which have run wild across LA. The venue he was set to perform at is serving as an emergency response centre currently for local law enforcement and fire services.
The Eaton Fire
The Eaton fire, which is burning near the stadium, has tragically claimed 17 lives and destroyed more than 14,000 acres. Also, authorities in the region are investigating the cause of the fires and at this stage they have ruled out lightning.
Offering his assistance to rebuild following the catastrophe, the Weeknd has shown his will to help Californian towns in their rehabilitation. The album delay and cancellation of the show mirror his great regard and care for people affected by the accident.
