Content Guide
The Vices, the four-piece rockers from the Netherlands jump on us with their delightful dreamy new indie track, “Before It Might Be Gone”. Well, as far as indie goes, this one is ticking all my boxes this month and given that they are still in the early days of their career; we could be witnessing something special here!
Vibe
There is a 60’s vibe present on this track with a vintage flavour emerging from the speakers as the lead singer reaches for the microphone. Also, they appear to take inspiration from a myriad of places while creating a sound which is wholly their own. The track is easy to get lost in too with each member standing up to the occasion, building the track up before we are met with an omnipotent chorus section. Thee
Guitar-Driven Sound
The band push themselves outside of the box and creates an almighty wall of sound with their guitar-driven melodies. Their guitar tones create a huge stereo-filling effect and remind us why guitar music never gets tiresome. Also, they make me eager to grab a ticket for one of their shows; I can only imagine how colossal it would sound reverberating out of an indie basement.
Overall, I am head over heels with this new track from The Vices. They prove that you do not need to completely reinvent the wheel to create a sound which sounds fresh and new. It is also great to witness a band bringing back that good old-fashioned British rock and roll vibe, especially through the use of their guitar-soaked instrumental sections.
