Taylor Swift has received some strong advice from fellow pop star Kelly Clarkson.
Furthermore, Clarkson has advised Swift to re-record her entire catalogue of tracks to prevent the money from previous hits going to Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun.
Writing on Twitter, she said. “@taylorswift13 just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions. I’d buy all of the new versions just to prove a point”.
Taylor Swift Feud
This advice comes after Swift found out that Scooter Braun had purchased big machine records which owns all of her masters. This means that Scooter now owns the entire collection of Taylor Swift albums from Taylor Swift to Reputation. This resulted in Taylor branding Braun a ‘Bully’ through her in depth Tumblr post. As a result of the post, many celebrities stepped up to defend Braun and it has become a talking point across the global music industry.
Valid Point From Phil
However, one Twitter user ‘Phil’ had a very valid point. He wrote. “But wouldn’t Scooter Braun just sue her for plagiarism of works he owns the rights too? Wouldn’t a better option be to petition Congress to declare her work of national significance and remove the copyrights from him?”
Overall, we do not think Swift would go through the effort of re-recording all her previous tracks. After all, she has moved on from those tracks and is pushing forward with her new album.
Do you believe that Kelly Clarkson has come up with a good idea? Or do you think that Phil has hit the nail on the head?
