Content Guide
I have forever been a fan of Snow Patrol and seeing them return with new album, “The Forest Is The Path” is the perfect early autumn treat for me! Personally, I think this band are best suited to this season, although that may be because I listened to their “Final Straw” album back to back around this time of year way back in 2003, either way, they are just as good if not better than ever with this new album!
Trademark Sound
If you are a fan of Snow Patrol, then this one is really going to please you! If you are unsure about the band or have never been lucky enough to come across them before, then this album will likely attract you to their fanbase too! The album starts with “All”, the group’s trademark qualities arriving immediately and proving why they are still one of the best rock bands on the planet. This is a highly emotional release with Gary Lightbody, the singer pouring his heart out into his delivery.
Indie Edge
A personal favourite comes four tracks in with “Your Heart Home”. This has an unorthodox edge with the vocals sounding just a little out of key from the music but it works really well somehow! The music is easy to get lost in with the bass and drums driving the track forward. Another one which is on repeat on my playlist is “Hold Me In The Fire”, it has a really cool indie quality with the guitars sounding super fresh!
Emotional Rollercoaster
The album by Snow Patrol is an emotional rollercoaster journey with it one minute almost leaving us weeping to the next picking us up with energy and infectious momentum. “These Lies” slows it down though and gracefully whisks us off to dreamland with Gary’s heartfelt vocals hitting home. “The Forest Is The Path” is the final track on the new album and it wraps up the album perfectly, a bit of a slow finale but one which warrants the 5-star rating!
