Polydor signed Sea Girls have been one of my top bands in 2020, and they do not disappoint again as we head into 2021 with their new release, ‘This Is The End‘.
Fusing contemporary indie with feel-good pop, Sea Girls smash through the industry gates with conviction. I relish how they keep evolving as musicians. So much so, if they are not topping festival bills come next year, then I will be stunned and some-what p**sed off too because they are potent!
Kicking off, lead vocalist, Henry Camamile takes a no prisoner approach. Moreover, he leaps forward to the mic with confidence, and he leverages his ability instantly. The other talented chaps in the group then arrive. They add glue to the mix, which is challenging to refuse. Also, each member flies high by creating a sound which stays far from the status quo.
Colossal
As the track progresses, the vocal becomes more profound. Additionally, the Londoners unleash a colossal harmony arrangement which drips with piercing effect. Also, the guitar glides through the airwaves with a chorus sound which will have you wanting to add an electric guitar to your Christmas list.
So, is this the best track yet from Sea Girls? It is certainly up there with their best. But, the earlier tracks were always going to be hard cookies to beat. This release brings something new to the table, and although it is not quite as rocky as I may have expected, it still fills me with excitement and I cannot seem to get enough of it.
