Guide
The marvellous thing about my job is that I get to write about pretty much anything regardless of genre and although I have been reviewing a lot of pop and rock releases recently, I know I had to get stuck into “Triune” by Olivia Belli the moment my ears heard it, they were locked in!
Composition Analysis (Olivia Belli)
“Triune” is a beautiful piece released through XXIM Records and Italian composer Olivia Belli takes me off to a world where I look back and reflect on life. It is a deeply moving and powerful delivery, featuring angelic high-pitched strings that create an almost juxtaposing effect against a bold, lower-frequency violin arrangement. I love the contrasting elements in the piece and you can either feel joy or sadness depending on how you want to perceive it or the mood you are in while listening.
From listening I have worked out that the key is in G Minor. This key often creates a dramatic quality while feeling emotion and that is one of the best ways to sum up “Triune”. It is also a key which is heard all throughout classical history with many Baroque, Classical, and Romantic era pieces sharing a similar character.
