I am absolutely in awe of “You Name It (Paris)” by Nils Frahm. Listening to this new piece from the German pianist and composer fills me with a warmth which took me by surprise. One thing which is true about Nils Frahm is that he consistently delivers and he hits all the right notes with this new release which was released on the 22nd of November.
Beautiful Piano Tones
Beautiful piano tones emerge from the speakers within seconds of hitting play and I am whisked off to a realm where only calmness exists. There is a serene beauty to this competition which is easy to fall in love with and the straightforward structure proves that you do not need a hugely complex competition to stand out in the neo-classical space.
A Memorable Journey
“You Name It (Paris)” feels like a journey; a memorable one too! As I listen, I almost feel myself entering a meditative space with the background noises of my office sounding stunning alongside the tranquil playing style of Nils Frahm. It feels as though he is playing personally for me and that is one of the best qualities a composer can have. Moreover, it feels intimate and a chance to sit back and reflect on life and everything in between.
Live Album
“You Name It (Paris)” is from a new live album by Nils Frahm which is releasing worldwide on December 6th. Also, it is the second competition to be previewed, following on from “Spells (Paris)” which the composer released on the 1st of November. Also, if these two pieces are anything to go by then we are all in for a treat and an early Christmas present upon the arrival of the live album.
