After Charlie Sloth announced his departure from The BBC Radio 1Xtra Rap Show and *that* incident, speculation on his and Tim Westwood’s replacement has got everyone talking but, wonder no more, as the next presenter of the show has been announced as Tiffany Calver.
No stranger to the rap scene, Tiffany has been around, from presenting loads of radio shows to – wait for it – opening for Beyonce and JayZ during their On the Run Tour.
Telford born, Tiffany started her career on social media, reaching out and networking with as many people as she could, before being spotted by MTV and SBTV.
She leaves Kiss to join the BBC and speaking of her new gig she said; “I’m honoured to be taking over the slot that has pretty much soundtracked my life. I look forward to carrying on the legacy of such a prestigious and highly respected show while also having the opportunity to add my own flavour (and sound effects) to it. This is a new beginning in so many ways; dreams really can come true.”
To add to her ever-growing list of achievements, she has worked with mental health charity, Mind to break down the stigma of mental health amongst musicians, she was also the first female to curate a mix for Drake’s OVO Sound radio show and now she is the first female presenter of a national radio rap show – talk about inspiration right there!
We can’t wait to hear her show in January and see where this move takes her, not only is she super successful, but we had a look on her instagram and she is the cutest, sassiest, most authentic girl, the kind you definitely want to day drink and sight see with!
Good Luck Tiffany – you will be amazing, we are sure of it!
