Mumford and Sons have announced a whopping 60 date world tour for their upcoming fourth album Delta. The beloved folk rockers will release 800,000 tickets for what is set to be their biggest global arena tour to date and we can barely contain our excitement. Support in the UK and US comes from emerging American artist Maggie Rogers, whilst English soul singer Michael Kiwanuka will join them for the Australia dates.
Starting in Dublin on November 16, Mumford and Sons will travel to a host of different countries internationally in six months, before finishing in Stockholm, Sweden on 21 May. Venues in the UK include Manchester Arena (November 21), Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena (November 28) and London’s iconic O2 Arena. The band have timed the release of Delta to coincide with the first of their dates in Dublin so the tour is sure to set off with a bang.
Taking to their social media pages and website the band posted:
“This is the most extensive and ambitious tour we’ve ever done. Travelling the world and playing shows was our initial, and remains to be our primary, purpose as a band. The Delta Tour is going to be everything and we are going to leave it all on the floor.”
Fans can expect big things from the new album with band member Ben Lovett sharing his hopes that it will be the one to “define them”. Their latest single Guiding Light is a testament to such hopes and with it Mumford and Sons add another banging anthem to their collection. Read more about the album and release of their single here.
Tickets will go on sale 9am next Friday (October 12) so get those keyboard tapping fingers ready as this is one tour not to be missed.
