Warner Music Nashville / Warner Bros. Records rising star Morgan Evans has released the first in an all-new series of videos titled the Highway 1 Sessions. Kicking it off with the track ‘Young Again’ from his debut album Things That We Drink To, Evans puts a live acoustic spin on the carefree song with an impromptu performance under the marquee of a historic theatre in a coastal town.
With a few days off between shows, Evans headed to the shoreline with just a guitar, a few friends and an open agenda. The result was the Highway 1 Sessions: a collection of moments captured on-camera, inspired by the Australia native’s passion for surfing, adventure and the outdoors.
Opening up to Taste of Country about the making of the one-take clip that “captures Evans in his element”, he also gave an inside look at the emotion he and his ‘Young Again’ co-writers (Chris DeStefano, Josh Kear) hoped to convey on the fun-loving track.
As his current single ‘Day Drunk’ nears Country radio’s Top 40, Evans will wrap his run on Chris Young’s Losing Sleep World Tour this weekend as the tour makes its final stops across the US.
Poised for another standout year in 2019, he has been named in MusicRow Magazine’s Next Big Thing list and is set to join Old Dominion’s Make It Sweet Tour starting in January before taking the stage as a special guest on the first leg of Dan + Shay The Tour.
Praised by Rolling Stone as “a savvy performer with strong songwriting chops”, Australian-born rising Country artist Morgan Evans is celebrating the release of his debut album, Things That We Drink To (Warner Music Nashville), out now.
The project features his #1 debut US single ‘Kiss Somebody’ as well as the chart-rising follow-up ‘Day Drunk’. Forging a path as one of the genre’s up-and-coming stars, he has been named to PEOPLE’s elite “Ones To Watch” 2018 list and spotlighted as an emerging artist by CMT, SiriusXM, Pandora, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Bobby Bones, The Tennessean and more.
An award-winning Country force in Australia, Evans has shared the bill with global superstar Taylor Swift, Country hit-maker Cole Swindell and more A-list acts and recently wrapped his 10 IN 10 US tour, performing 10-straight shows in 10 days including sold-out headline dates in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York.
