Mila Nabours Interview With Colby

Mila Nabours is an actress, singer, and dancer from the United States who is rapidly becoming talk of the town for all the right reasons.

Luckily for us, she stopped by for a chat.

Colby: Good day, Mila. It’s a pleasure to speak with you. How’s your 2021 going so far? Have you been able to stay creative during lockdowns?

Mila: Hi, thank you so much for having me! 2021 so far has been very productive, I’ve been working on a lot of music! Because of the lockdown in 2020, I finally had the time to start perusing my music career. I’ve also had to the time to really connect with my audience on social media and build myself as an artist!

Colby: You were discovered for the first time when you were 12 years old, which is fantastic. What was it like to land the lead in a film as a 12-year-old?

Mila: Absolutely crazy! I was in utter shock when I booked this film, it was a surreal feeling knowing that I’d be filming a movie for the first time. I had never done anything like it. Since then I’ve felt inspired to continue working for my goals, staying dedicated to my music and acting journey.

Colby: As the daughter of two professional classical musicians, have you picked up on their passion for classical styles too?

Mila: Honestly, my music taste and style is very different from my parents, but at the least, I’m very very grateful that I found a passion for music, even if in a different genre.

Colby: Did having musical parents impact your decision to pursue a career in music?

Mila: Yes! Having their support made me feel very confident in starting my music journey— since they’re classically trained musicians, I knew their help and guidance would help tremendously. I’m so grateful for their help every step of the way.

Colby: Lastly, if you could only use one word to describe your music, what would it be and why?

Mila: Soulful – I feel like my music is very storytelling, and all of my emotion and expression comes from a very organic place, which creates a soulful quality.
