Mixed Reaction
Linkin Park have been a household name in rock ever since they first exploded onto the scene back in 2000 with their stand-out debut album, “Hybrid Theory” ever since then they have continued to pick up fans from all over the world. However, everything suddenly changed back in July of 2017 after the sudden passing of frontman, Chester Bennington. Since then, there has always been speculation as to whether the group would return, and luckily for the fans, they have now done just that! But, has it gone down well with the fans?
Emily Armstrong
Some fans believe that the new singer Emily Armstrong has been brought in to replace Chester Bennington. Even, Chester’s own son publicly came out to criticise Shinoda’s decision to bring in Armstrong. However, Mike Shinoda has reiterated that this new era for Linkin Park is a completely new character and that Armstrong is not a direct replacement for Chester Bennington.
Writing Since 2009
According to Mike, he and Emily Armstrong have been writing together since 2019 and naturally, she has become more involved with the group. Moreover, it started with her singing a few songs intended to be sung by Mike Shinda, before eventually delving even further after they realised that it sounded really good. The band also has a new drummer Colin Brittain. He took over from Rob Bourdon who declined to rejoin the group.
