‘Only You Say It’ by Lonely The Brave – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★☆

Lonely The Brave, the English rock band, break through the new music Friday haze with their thunderous bite, drawing us in once more. Their latest single, ‘Only You Say It’ is everything we could hope for and more. Also, it brings back the rock intensity we’ve been craving.

The new frontman, Jack Bennett, provides an infectious lead vocal performance soon after a crunchy guitar riff introduces us to the mix. He draws attention to the quality rising out of the UK rock scene. His vocals, full of warmth and welcoming textures, captivate and hold us to the speakers. After the departure of former frontman David Jakes, he had huge shoes to fill. But, he has risen to the challenge and smashed it. To such an extent, it is practically impossible to tell that he was not one of the band’s original members.

In typical Lonely The Brave fashion, they deliver a ridiculously catchy chorus to the ear. The music sinks into our veins from the first encounter. Also, although the structure is not too dissimilar to their previous releases, they mix things up every now and again, which is refreshing to witness.

Overall, a solid release from Lonely The Brave. So much so, we anticipate it will be reverberating out of rock basements up and down the lands for quite some time!
