‘Skint Gang’ by Lethal Bizzle – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★☆

British rapper, Lethal Bizzle gets the hips swaying with his new release, ‘Skint Gang’. The track comes off his new 8-track album, ‘Lethal B vs Lethal Bizzle’, which is out now!

It is difficult to contain the infectious movement within ‘Skint Gang’. So much so that while Lethal treats us to just over 2 minutes of the most magnificent modern hip hop, we are firmly in his hands. His confidence is contagious. Also, his youthfulness still shines through the production just as it did when he first appeared on the scene in the early 2000s.

Lethal is welcomed to the front with a dynamic aesthetic by a backbeat that begins the song. Lethal quickly gets down to business, speaking frankly about money and life without holding back. Given that the lyrics are not too out of the ordinary when compared to his past releases and other numbers of the same kind, his ability to keep the listeners focused on his rap performance is outstanding.

Although many people may connect the song’s feel to that of Wiley, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, and Idris Elba’s 2019 release ‘Boasty’; the music still brings a lot of new qualities to the forefront of the 2022 hip hop game. Yes, it does not reach out of the box too much in terms of exploration. But, it still pushes hip hop forward in the right direction.
