KSI returns with his new song, “Dirty” and it is a release which has become the talk of the town! The new release is out now and it is one not to miss!

Billie Eilish?

Many people have been speculating whether it is Billie Eilish singing the main vocal in the opening sections. It appears that it is Billie, but she is uncredited for her work. Moreover, when you listen carefully, there are comparable similarities between the singer and that of Billie Eilish and as others have pointed out on social media, she shares a very similar vocal tone.

Mixing It Up

KSI often stays within the hip/hop rap realm, but he delves far from the box with “Dirty”. Although the track features a hip-hop-inspired undercurrent, there is a pop vibe present and it is great to witness him trying something different. Also, his vocal delivery in the latter parts of the track push the boundaries too, making the track stand out even more!

The Meaning (My Perception)

The track explores sensitivity, and love as well as emotional conflict. The recurring sentence “falling in love with you is the dirtiest thing that I’ve ever done” catches a sense of internal struggle whereby love, usually seen as pure and uplifting, is instead depicted as something morally or emotionally compromised. References to “danger” and “sirens,” symbols of warning and pandemonium, mirror the emotional cost of devoting oneself to someone else.

The second verse gives the story greater nuance with KSI noting his “dirty laundry”, past errors and emotional baggage weighing heavily on him. Furthermore, he acknowledges making poor choices and experiencing anxiety. Also, he says love has left him vulnerable and damaged. While “jumped off with no landing gear” presents recklessness, as if he joined the relationship knowing the emotional repercussions were coming, “Cupid’s getting bored in here” depicts the futility or stagnation of love.
