With the release of her debut single ‘Over You‘, Kendall Monroe (Too Real) will be able to add a recording artist to her portfolio. Ms. Monroe, who was inspired by Madison Beer, uses a bad former relationship to encourage young women to believe in themselves.
Colby: Hello Kendall, it is my pleasure to interview you. You are a widely recognized actress and model, but you are now delving into music with your new single ‘Over You’; what inspired you to get into music?
Kendall: Thinking about it, I’ve had a love for music from far back as I can remember because I come from a multi-generational household where music has always been important. I grew up listening to music that my mom loves from the ’60s 70’s and 80s and also the music that my older siblings listen to from the 90s and early 2000s. Growing up listening to all the music from all those decades inspired me to pursue developing my own music.
Colby: Having listened to your new release, I have to say it is pretty damn red-hot; I cannot get enough of it! But, to our readers who are not familiar with it yet, how would you describe it?
Kendall: Thank you for the red-hot because I do describe my song as being red hot 💋 . Honestly, it’s a breakup song but not your average break-up song. It’s catchy, upbeat and something you want to keep on repeat. It is that break up song that definitely makes you feel better after you hear it and makes you feel like your going to be okay.
Colby: The new gem is co-written by yourself and Mimi Jules; how did you find the experience of writing with somebody else?
Kendall: Co-writing with Mimi, was definitely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I felt that we connected on so many levels so it made it easy for us to write together. I’m grateful to have learned so much from her during the writing process. it’s always a win-win when you and your co-writer vibe of each other’s energy.
Colby: If you could headline any festival in the world, which one would it be and why?
Kendall: COACHELLA!!!!! it has always been a dream of mine to perform at Coachella. I feel that Coachella is a place that brings so many people together and celebrates music and fashion at the same time.
Colby: Lastly, what is your number one tip for somebody looking to get into music?
Kendall: Go for it and don’t be afraid to follow your dreams.
