For me, “Walking In A Dream” by award-winning British composer, Julia Thomsen just keeps on giving! The original composition which first emerged all the way back in 2022 has since been performed on the piano and it has now been performed and recorded on the guitar by none other than Strings of Light.
Staying true to what Julia laid down in the original a few years ago, Strings of Light brings natural beauty to the ears once more. There are charming tones in the guitar delivery and it is hard not to feel at ease once the song starts. Also, one thing which stood out to me most in the original was the amount of passion involved and that continues here in this new rendition. There is a simplistic charm about it too which echoes around the mind and stays long after the piece reaches its final notes.
For anyone who enjoys acoustic guitar playing, this one is certainly for you! It is a piece which can be enjoyed over and over again, regardless of season or moment in time. It has an allure which will also keep it at the forefront of the classical scene for a long time to come, I am sure!
