New-York based musician, Joshua Gelfand stopped by for a chat!

Colby: What Do You Enjoy Most About Being A Musician?

Joshua: The ability to communicate in a way that is fundamentally different than regular conversation, being able to craft and style my thought-process with some kind of purity that best illustrates who I am and what I believe.

Colby: Which Track Of Yours Means The Most To You?

Joshua: I have a song entitled “Gift” written about a friend who was institutionalized with Bi-Polar disorder. This track doesn’t overtly mention any of that, but I feel the intensity of it and has always received a strong response from an audience.

Colby: The First-Ever Gig You Played, Can You Remember It? How Was It?

Joshua: The first gig I ever played was fun! Despite the nerves, lots of friends were there to support. Thankfully they were loud enough to disguise whatever we were playing!

Colby:  What Do You Think Is The Key To Success As A Musician?

Joshua: Talent, perseverance, luck, optimism, financial and emotional support. I think you need all of it!

Colby: If You Wasn’t A Musician, What Job Would You Be Doing?

Joshua: I would be educating, working, and creating other things, probably writing. All of the things I do now currently to support being a musician!
