Senjutsu‘ by Iron Maiden – Album Rating: 5/5 ★★★★★

‘Senjutsu’ by Iron Maiden is reaching new heights that even the iconic British heavy metal band could not have predicted. Furthermore, the new album in two discs (for reasons unknown) is already charting higher than the band has ever done in the United States. It’s a similar tale in the UK, where the album has rocketed up the official album charts.

It is not a surprise for us, though; the record is fantastic! It has an allure that will entice even the most ardent listeners. It’s bold and energetic, with an intriguing antique base. It all starts with the title track, ‘Senjutsu.’ The Iron Maiden hallmark sound explodes through the speakers right away. The guitars are massive, as one would expect from a band that has long been known for their thunderous guitar riffs.

Two Disc Maiden

Six songs are on the first disc, while four songs are on the second disc. It’s unclear why they chose to do this, given that this rule is primarily for artists who have a lot of songs and need to condense them. In this situation, though, they could have easily fit them all on one. Anyway, we have ‘The Writing On The Wall’ on the first CD. It’s enthralling, and Bruce Dickinson’s vocals are out of this world! It is a firm favourite of the GSGM camp as well as the group’s fans.

‘Hell On Earth’ closes out the final disc. It’s a track that departs from the bands strong rock crunch overtures. In addition, a peaceful precursor propels us forward. But, because this is Iron Maiden, the rock way quickly emerges, and the guitars and bass, as well as the drum cadence, all burst out with zeal.
