Inhaler are back with new release, “A Question Of You” and it is a indie-rock hit which you do not want to miss this new music Friday! It has a feel-good indie edge and it is is great to hear the band exploring new ground while also staying true to the sound which many of their fans have become accustomed to!

Unique Edge

Elijah Hewson, will always struggle to get away from Bono comparisons given that he is the son of the one of the most famous rock singers on the planet. But, if you were unaware of this fact, you would likely never guess it. Yes, he has a somewhat similar approach to songwriting and vocal delivery but he has his own unique edge too and it is refreshing to see him going his own way.

The music is infectious and it starts with a foot-tapping drum rhythm before stepping into a pop meet indie instrumental section prior to a salient verse with Elijah leaving nothing behind. The pre-chorus and chorus is where the real magic happens with the drums stepping up a gear before an ear-worm vocal delivery arrives, etching itself deeply into the mind.

Meaning (From My Perspective)

Themes of love and the complexities of relationships are found in the lyrics. Moreover, the song reflects a narrative of emotional vulnerability. Elijah struggles with unresolved issues and the residual uncertainties defining a close relationship. The line “poured your heart out into my cup” emphasises times of emotional closeness as well as the doubt about whether love and desire by themselves can heal deeper fractures.

The song transitions from nostalgia to self-realisation as the song progresses. Memories of a once-powerful love, “I could split the sea, you could move the Earth just for me,” contrast with the present state of disconnection and loss. Yet in the refrain, “I am the answer to the question,” marks a turning point and it feels like a journey toward newfound acceptance.
