‘People Disappear Here’, the new single from Halsey is a breath of fresh air for the ears. The alt-pop starlet’s new single is taken from her latest album, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (Extended)’.

Halsey pushes the envelope even further with a sound that is instantly stimulating, never one to settle for the status quo. With a backbeat drum rhythm directing the way forward, it begins as it means to go on. It’s not often that a solo drum beat takes centre stage from the beginning, let alone for as long as it does here, but it works beautifully, and the cadence gets the foot-tapping ahead of the big delight, which arrives when Halsey joins the mix.

The singer is in excellent vocal form, demonstrating why she is quickly becoming a music icon. Her tones are enticing, and the passion she carries on her sleeve oozes from every pore of her delivery. She transports us to a dimension where only beauty exists, far off from the world we live in currently.

However, the production has a haunting quality, and the powerful piano arrangement that appears in the middle portion creates a soundscape that leaves an impression on the soul. Compared to other aspects of the mix, the piano almost doesn’t fit in the track because it’s muddled and all over the place, yet Halsey manages to pull it off, and it sounds potent!
