George Ezra has been somewhat quiet in recent years, having not released any new music since ‘Staying At Tamara’s’ in 2018. That is, however, changing, and thank goodness! We need George back where he belongs, and with his new single, ‘Anyone For You’, he rightfully reclaims his place at the top of the indie-pop realms.

Ezra’s new single is all you’d expect from an artist of his stature, and then some! It’s a bright release with a sound that we’re all probably in need of right now. Yes, the winter months are still here, and the summer months are still a long way off, but who cares when we have music like this to get us through the dreary months of January and February?

Uplifting

‘Anyone For You’ is uplifting in every way. Furthermore, it begins with a cheerful piano arrangement that immediately raises the hairs on the back of the neck. George quickly joins the mix, and his captivating vocal tone, combined with his thought-provoking narrative, draws us deeper into his universe. He is open about becoming anyone for those he loves the most; he is unconcerned about who he has to be with them, and he will readily accommodate their wishes and needs.

As you’d expect from a George Ezra song, there are a plethora of sounds that emerge as the song unfolds. Moreover, we hear the singer’s signature brass players rise to the occasion with glee in the concluding parts; ah, it’s nice to have them all back!
