Fountains Of Wayne singer ‘Adam Schlesinger’ has sadly died at the age of 52 after testing positive for COVID-19.

It is sorrowful times we are living in currently. Thousands are losing their lives to the deadly pandemic daily, and I believe I speak for everybody by hoping that this virus is stopped in its track as quickly as possible. Today, we heard of the news of ‘Adam Schlesinger’ passing, and it brought great sadness to the GSGM camp. The majority of us here at GSGM grew up listening to ‘Stacys Mom.’ and we know musicians who found influence from the great singer.

However, it was not just the hit song which he was famously known. He had hit singles in the ’90s with ‘Radiation Vibe’ and ‘Sink To The Bottom’, who remembers those bangers? If you are yet to hear them, check them out.

Adam was also an Emmy-winning award winner and was a well-respected composer for TV and Cinema. I bet you did not know that he was the composer for ‘Music and Lyrics’ starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore? Also ‘Damsels In Distress’. Wow, we did not realise that until now either.

Since the news of his death, some of the worlds biggest names have paid tribute. One of those is Tom Hanks, who is also suffering from the virus. Other starts leaving tributes are ‘How I Met Your Mother’ co-creator Craig Thomas and also ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ director James Gunn.

Thoughts

Our thoughts today go out to his family, friends and Fountains Of Wayne and Adam Schlesinger fans. But also to every other family which is seeing the harsh effects of COVID-19. All of us here at GSGM, are thinking of every one of you. Also, we wish everyone who currently has the virus a speedy and full recovery. We will beat this. But, remember you must stay at home and follow official guidance.
