‘The 90s‘ by FINNEAS – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★
With his latest release, ‘The 90s,’ pop singer-songwriter and producer FINNEAS is once again towering over the pop world. On this record, the forward-thinking music creator who rose to popularity alongside his sister, Billie Eilish, does not disappoint, cementing his place in history even further.
FINNEAS is not short of talent, and his skill shines on ‘The 90s’. He began his music career at the age of 12 and has become one of the world’s most lauded producers and creators. It starts with a gentle overture and a small number of sounds emerging from the mix. As he regularly does with Billie’s records, FINNEAS concentrates on the vocals. Furthermore, he makes the most of his talent by infusing his performance with a slew of futuristic elements that redefine modern sound.
Interesting Song Architecture
The music stays distant throughout the track. But, a crescendo in the middle picks up the tempo and sends the energy levels skyward. The architecture, however, reroutes and returns to nothingness, with only FINNEAS leading the way until a colossal synth appears in the latter. The ending is magnificent, with a huge bite that holds the listener. Also, his voice has an Imogen Heap vibe, with an auto-tune movement that compels.
FINNEAS muses on the 1990s lyrically, albeit it is unlikely that he will remember the decade too well, considering that he would have been only three years old when the era came to an end. However, his message is clear, and his witty language makes for an exciting encounter.
