Top Form
Ervin Munir is on top form with his new single, “My Heart”. This new track from Ervin provides an opportunity to escape from the world around you, stepping into a daze of self-reflection and introspection. The song is certainly heartbreaking, but there is a beauty that surrounds it which makes it quite special!
Structure
“My Heart” is probably the most experimental release yet which we have reviewed from Ervin who is from Norfolk. The music in my opinion is a step up from his last, the structure pivots often and everything just feels a lot more sophisticated. Moreover, the drums change shape regularly and the vocals from Ervin sound really impressive.
There is a great addition towards the back end of the track too in the form of a fast-paced bridge. Furthermore, all the instruments come together after a short pause with the guitars and drums riding alongside each other. The song then dips back into the chorus section with Ervin summing up his narrative. He speaks passionately about a former relationship, often feeling as though he does not know a great deal about his other half. It is something which many will find relatable, especially given that sometimes although we are close to people, we never truly know what is going on in their minds.
