What inspired you to write about the rush of new romance in “Did I Miss It”?

I was picking an Am9 chord on guitar and sang the first thing that came into my head, which was “ Did I miss it”. The chord has a night-time eerie sound and I imagined a bedroom at night and me thinking about my relationship.

How was it working with Aeron again?

Working with Aeron Z Jones is always a pleasure. He gets what I’m looking for in terms of production and he is a fine musician himself. His guitar on this song is flawless and inspiring.

How has recent support from BBC Radio influenced your music?

I’ve tried not to let it influence me. But I must admit I would love to get more air-play on the BBC. I do feel more confident in my songwriting because of the interest shown. There are many doors and gatekeepers you need to go through and get past in this business. This was one of them.

What do you hope listeners feel or take away from “Did I Miss It”?

A sense that falling in love can happen quietly and stealthily, and one day you might be surprised by it.

What’s next for you after this release? Any new projects on the horizon?

A couple more singles will be released soon, followed by my second album in the new year. I’ve also started working on more singles for my third album. In the meantime I’ll continue performing in North Norfolk.
