Ella Mai, the R&B and soul singer, is frank in her new track, ‘DFMU’. The British star borrows from the finest r&b songbook and adds a plethora of unique elements that help her stand out right away.

The highly praised singer has come a long way since her X Factor debut in 2014 when she was part of a trio. She has become a household name in the genre since then, earning multiple prestigious accolades along the way. Also, she doesn’t let us down here; we can’t get enough of it and it has been on replay since its arrival!

Ella Mai is one of the most heavenly vocalists to emerge on the scene in recent years, and she exemplifies her prowess in this performance. Rivalling the game’s top names, Mai takes a giant step ahead, serenading the ears of her devoted fans while also inviting a new generation of admirers.

She does not hold back with a narrative that properly reflects her sentiments, and her lyrics are searing. She discusses vulnerability in relationships and emphasises the need to trust a lover. The singer is more than happy to be open with individuals she cares about. But, she insists that they do not let her down in the process.

Musically, the tune follows a fairly conventional arrangement with slight variation in the music. But who cares when you have a vocal quite like this from Ella?
