Chris Martin from Coldplay has emphasised that they only plan to release 12 albums in total before calling it a day on the traditional release format. Moreover, the group are about to drop their 10th album “Moon Music” meaning that fans can only expect two more albums from the group.
Zane Lowe Show
It was on the Zane Lowe show on Apple Music where Chris Martin revealed the news stating that “less is more”. He also compared their album totals to that of other legends such as The Beatles and Bob Marley hailing 12 as the magic number to wrap things up.
High Quality Music Is Key For Coldplay
Chris also explained another reason why they are planning to release only two more albums. Furthermore, he said that quality is more important the quantity therefore by having a limit, they give themselves pressure to create high-quality music as opposed to just releasing anything for the sake of it.
What Will Happen Once They Hit 12?
It appears that Coldplay will still continue making music but not full studio albums. They will likely make music in other forms but they will not release another album again with Chris insisting that he has had that feeling for years and is happy to trust his instincts.
