Higher Power ‘by Coldplay – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★

Coldplay return and they soar with their new release, ‘Higher Power‘. It is from their upcoming album, ‘Alien Radio‘, which is due out very soon.

Pioneers as always, Coldplay premiered the track on the international space station with French astronaut Thomas Pesquite playing the track, which made its way back to earth via a satellite; pretty damn impressive!

The band are renowned for dropping a smash hit before summer gets into full swing, and they have unleashed a summer anthem here with this gem. It is an innovative release with the four-piece reinventing themselves with a soundscape, unlike their previous backlog full of number one hits.

Chris Martin

Chris Martin is as hungry for a hit as ever, and he does not disappoint with a sublime vocal performance. It is shocking to comprehend that a label once turned down the group in their early days stating that Chris lacked vocal prowess; well, he proves them all wrong.

Musically, the band delve deep into their electronic toolkit, and they recruit Max Martin, who produces the hit. The group have since called the producer “A true wonder of the universe”. It is evident why they are full of praise for the star man. Furthermore, Max’s skill synergises seamlessly with the groups signature flavour.

Coldplay fuse contemporary, upbeat hooks with a nail-biting drum rhythm on ‘Higher Power‘. As a result, the track boasts a feel-good groove; it will be a remedy for many ears and it gives an indication of what to expect with the new album.
