Circa Waves have today announced a series of intimate, up close and personal underplay shows across the UK. The run of dates offer a rare opportunity to catch the band in such intimate settings, where they’ll be road testing brand new material from their forthcoming studio album.
The tour will see the band return to Scottish town Dunfermline, while performing for the first time in places including Kilmarnock, Stockton-on-Tees, Milton Keynes, Guildford, Tunbridge Wells, Plymouth, Norwich and St Albans.
As well as showcasing new material, the band will also treat fans to a selection of old favourites, paying back their fierce loyalty and the fanatical support they’ve appreciated from the very beginning. It’s the band’s first opportunity in years to experience such a raucous reception and energy in a compact environment, reminding themselves of why they became a band in the first place.
On announcing the run of exclusive shows, frontman Kieran Shudall explains; “We LOVE to play big shows, but the small sweaty raucous club shows is where Circa Waves started and formed everything we are. We want to get back in the pit with you, get sweaty, drink some beer and meet all the people who make us Circa Waves. We want to go to the cities who always miss out. The people who always have to travel for gigs. Fuck it, we’re coming to you!”
The shows come off the back of their highly successful second album Different Creatures. Co-produced by Alan Moulder, the album berthed 3 A-list singles and propelled Circa Waves to their biggest festival season ever, stretching from Reading & Leeds in 2017, to ending with aplomb at this year’s Community Festival in July, where the band blew away crowds on the main stage.
Bouncing from county to county, playing towns and cities that are often overlooked from most touring schedules, November’s shows promise to be truly special, set to etch the fondest, and sweatiest, of memories for fans and band alike to savour as they gear up for the next chapter in Circa Waves evolution.
