Calvin Harris has lost the battle for the U.K number one spot for the second week running. This comes after our mid week report last week. The previous report indicated that Calvin was just in front at the mid-week stage. However Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Loved’ stepped up. This therefore landed the rising Scottish pop star his second week at the helm of the Number 1 spot.
Furthermore, this result meant that Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man had to settle with the runner-up spot for a second week, which we are sure will have caused disappointment for both parties.
Moreover, ‘Someone You Loved’ crossed the finish line with 6,000 combined sales ahead of ‘Giant’. Bizarrely, although Capaldi got number one, Calvin & Rag’n’Bone Man did hit the most downloads of that week.
In Number 3 was Mabel with her huge new single ‘Don’t Call Me Up’. This saw her overtake Ariana Grande’s two former Number 1s. As a result, ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ and ‘7 Rings’ only managed to reach the number 4 and 5 spots this week.
Number 1 album was Tom walker with his debut album ‘What a Time to Be Alive’.
