The Weeknd’s recent release ‘Blinding Lights’ shows no signs of slowing down having just made it to five weeks at the top spot on the Official UK Chart.
Furthermore, the singer’s first number one track in the UK has just made it to another week at number one. Also, I would not bet against it reaching number one for a sixth. To be honest, it deserves it. I do not think any of the other tracks in the top 10 are at the same level as ‘Blinding Lights’. They are good, but they do not have the sparkle which is on offer in The Weeknd’s new track.
Saint Jhn
Close behind ‘The Weeknd’ is Saint Jhn’s track ‘Roses’. It is a splendid release and does have the feel-good factor, which I think the entire world needs right now. But, it must keep fighting for that top spot because the music chart has a habit of changing dramatically very quickly. This track is currently sitting at number two in the official charts.
Joel Corry
In third place, this week is ‘Lonely’ by Joel Corry. This track is rising rapidly also. For me, this one has a real summer vibe to it, and I think it would have been sitting at a higher position had it been released closer to the summer months. Nevertheless, it is a great track.
So there you have it. The Weeknd has got his fifth week at the top spot. A pretty big deal for the artist who has never been number one in the UK before. Therefore well done Abel, please keep the great tracks coming!
