Billie Eilish gets better even when it appears that she has hit her pinnacle. Furthermore, her new release, ‘Lost Cause‘ exceeds even the highest expectations, and it leaves us gripping on once again.

‘Lost Cause‘ opens with Billie reminding us that ‘summer is in the air’, her first sentence is half complete initially, but she soon gets her words out once the music hits the mix. The overture is unorthodox, which is no surprise because Billie often relishes the more unique aspects of music. Furthermore, she hates doing anything like her peers, and she constantly reinvents herself with this track being a showcase of her innovation.

Chilled Out Mood

The mood is somewhat chilled out here on ‘Lost Cause‘. However, the energy still flows by the barrel load with the singers signature vocal layers adding an impactful stereo feel. A beat taps with an edgy snare hit, and it adds to the already distinct soundscape which Billie provides within her vocal performance.

In the refrain, a harrowing synth lead takes the route forward, and it stands out for all the right reasons. It is regularly changing shape, and it brings a new quality to the vanguard. Likewise, a bass guitar hook often rises out of the compound; its lack of consistency creates an unpredictable pathway that is memorable.

All sounds pick up in the closing stage, and Billie lets her hair down even more in the finale with a vocal delivery which proves that she is enjoying this new sound she has found.
