Beyonce previously released her iconic ‘Lemonade’ album exclusively on her husband Jay Z’s streaming platform Tidal. As a result, she went against all the other major streaming companies including Spotify and Apple Music.
In the release Beyonce sings ”If I gave two f**ks about streaming numbers/Would have put Lemonade up on Spotify’. This is heard in the ‘Nice’ track.
However, it now appears that Beyonce does give care about streaming numbers after all. This has become evident after Lemonade has become available on Spotify and Apple Music, 3 years after its initial release.
The decision to restrict the album from other steaming platforms saw Beyonce miss out on millions in streaming revenue. Also does this indicate a decline in Tidal? Because the streaming numbers are just not matching up to the giants in the streaming world?
Moreover, do you agree that the album should be on Spotify and Apple Music to allow more fans to listen to the music? Have your say by leaving a comment below.
