Avril Lavigne, the Canadian pop-punk singer-songwriter, brings the 2002 sentiment to the forefront of 2022 with her new album, ‘Love Sux’! Also, the new album features some of the world’s most acclaimed pop-rockers, and it comes from DTA Records, the label founded by Travis Barker of Blink 182.

‘Cannonball’, in classic Avril Lavigne flair, kicks off the record. Lavignes’ charisma instantly binds us to the speakers, and her vocal power shows no signs of fading; it is maturing like fine wine! Additionally, the nostalgia floods back the moment this intro kicks in, and it locks us in for a voyage of pure energy!

Captivating Characteristics

The following track is ‘Bois Lie’, which features Machine Gun Kelly. Both artists are a match made in heaven, and their captivating characteristics combine to form an extraordinary collaboration. Moreover, the refrain is ridiculously catchy, and it wonderfully builds into Avril’s most recent smash, ‘Bite Me’. ‘Bite Me,’ arguably one of the best tracks on the album pushes the threshold of modern pop-punk to a new level.

Six tracks in, we get to ‘Kiss Me Like The World Is Ending’. Here, we hear a soundscape reminiscent of Blink 182, and Travis’ influence appears to have rubbed off on this tune; it is magnetic! Also, in the case of Blink 182, Mark Hoppus appears on track ten with ‘All I Wanted’. Travis on the drums, Avril and Mark upfront, a dream come true, right?

The album concludes with ‘Break Of A Heartbreak’, a fitting ending to a record that merits all of the accolades it is currently receiving!
